We are currently looking for a Senior Data and Analytics Engineer to join our remote team and help shape the future of our climate-tech SaaS products.
Key outcomes
- Design and implement scalable data architectures for both single-tenant and multi-tenant SaaS environments.
- Build robust data platforms that facilitate seamless data onboarding, management, and integration.
- Develop high-performance data pipelines using the AWS Data Engineering stack, including Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Optimize Postgres databases through advanced indexing, partitioning, and query performance tuning.
- Create materialized views and analytics-ready datasets to support high-volume, headless BI requirements.
- Write clean, efficient code in Python, Java, or Go to support complex migration workflows and custom tooling.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to align platform capabilities with machine learning and analytics needs.
- Manage AWS infrastructure and automate workflows using the GitHub DevOps stack.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- At least 5 to 8 years of professional experience building data platforms for SaaS applications and managing large-scale data processing workflows.
- Deep technical proficiency in Python for ETL and automation, as well as Java or Go for building scalable tools.
- Advanced SQL skills and extensive experience with Postgres architecture, including ORM frameworks and schema design.
- Proven expertise in AWS services, specifically RDS, S3, DocumentDB, Athena, and Redshift.
- Experience with database migration projects, including mapping between MongoDB and relational schemas.
- Strong understanding of data security and monitoring tools like AWS IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
- A track record of success in startup environments and experience working effectively within remote teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and data integrity.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with the Rust programming language.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a comfort level for managing risk and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
