About the role:
Right now, we’re scaling up the team and looking for Senior Data & Analytics Engineers to join us. Your responsibilities will span from data ingestion to the development of analytics models using Dataform. Additionally, you will be tasked with crafting visually appealing dashboards that effectively communicate insights.

Please note: For Sydney-based candidates, this will be a hybrid role; for Melbourne-based candidates the role will be remote initially and later transition to hybrid.
For this role you will have:
- At least 2 years of recent cloud experience in building and managing large data platform environments in the cloud, preferably GCP.
- At least 5 years of experience in Data Warehousing.
- Experience with modern MPP cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Advanced SQL, Cloud Functions or lambda and data modeling skills.
- Experience working with event-oriented datasets of large size and diverse schemas.
- Experience in developing dashboards and reporting systems.
- Experience with DevOps practices and techniques, such as IaC, Docker and CI/CD tools.
- Previous working experience with dbt or Dataform.
- Familiarity with a wide range of data warehousing principles, including architecture, methodologies, schemas, performance/optimization principles, and best practices.
- Strong proficiency in following the ELT approach to the data integration process.
- Curiosity and self-drive to continuously learn new techniques and tools for extracting value from data.
- Experience in requirements gathering, owning, tracking, and delivering goals, working both independently and in teams.
On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to:
- Work with various stakeholders which include product teams, operational teams across various verticals from requirements gathering to delivery of the projects.
- Apply software engineering practices in creating data pipelines, Cloud Functions and Dataform models to provide high-performing and clean datasets from the data warehouse to end users.
- Work primarily with SQL/Jinja and Python to automate and optimize data loading and transformation systems.
- Maintain, operate, and tune data infrastructure at scale, including Datastream, cloud functions, GCP Data Streaming, BigQuery, Dataform, python and Looker.
- Work with event-oriented data sets of large size and diverse schemas.
- Develop infrastructure, tools, and scalable frameworks for data ingestion, access, and modeling to support SKUTOPIA’s utilization of the data warehouse.
- Design and build analytic data models that support answering questions from product teams, operational teams, and the leadership team.
- Work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
