About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data & Analytics Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this position, you will play a vital role in our data operations, handling everything from ingestion to the creation of advanced analytics models. You will also be responsible for designing intuitive dashboards that provide actionable insights to our stakeholders. This is a hybrid role that offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to grow alongside our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product and operational teams to gather requirements and deliver high-performing data projects.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines, Cloud Functions, and Dataform models to provide clean, reliable datasets.
- Design and build sophisticated analytic data models that support decision-making for our leadership and operational teams.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong technical background and a curiosity for learning new tools. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in Data Warehousing and 2 years of recent cloud experience, preferably with GCP.
- Proficiency with modern MPP cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Advanced skills in SQL, Python, and data modeling, along with experience using Dataform or dbt.
- A solid understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience working with large-scale, event-oriented datasets and diverse schemas.
- Strong communication skills for requirements gathering and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Location
This position is based in Australia. For candidates in Sydney, the role is hybrid. For those based in Melbourne, the position will be remote initially before transitioning to a hybrid arrangement.
