Tropic is a spend management platform that provides companies with visibility and control over their contracts, suppliers, and overall expenditures. Since launching in 2020, we have grown rapidly to manage over 5 billion dollars in spend for notable clients like OpenAI, Notion, and Intercom, and we are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our remote team in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Perform exploratory analysis to uncover novel insights that can be scaled within our product.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to build metrics and reporting resources that improve transparency and decision-making.
- Support our product teams by leveraging internal data to enhance the platform.
- Identify new datasets and innovative solutions to drive better business outcomes for our customers.
- Champion our data products internally, coaching teammates on how to effectively use our resources.
- Manage and curate a library of supported metrics to ensure a shared strategic understanding of our data.
- Own entire workstreams and prioritize projects to meet clear timelines.
Must-haves
- At least 4 years of experience in data analysis or data science, ideally within small, agile teams.
- Strong SQL proficiency, including the use of window functions, CTEs, and temporary tables.
- Experience with BI and dashboarding tools like Tableau or Sigma.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and empathize with the needs of internal partners.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- A proactive mindset toward learning new tools and solving complex problems.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Git and SQL orchestration tools like dbt or Dataform.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or R.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
