Senior Customer Engineer at Lightdash

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Customer Engineer to join our growing team at Lightdash. As we continue to build our open-source data analytics platform, we are establishing a new Customer Engineering team to work directly with our most strategic users. This role is perfect for a technical leader who wants to bridge the gap between engineering and customer success, helping us transform how data teams operate while shaping the future of our product.

Key outcomes

• Manage the technical relationships with our most important customers to ensure their success.
• Develop and prototype custom solutions to resolve specific customer challenges.
• Act as the voice of the customer by translating feedback into actionable product improvements.
• Work closely with our product and engineering teams to prioritize initiatives that drive user value.
• Contribute directly to our open-source codebase.
• Help define and build our customer engineering practice from the ground up.
• Influence our company strategy and product roadmap through deep customer insights.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a customer-obsessed engineer who can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong full-stack expertise, specifically with TypeScript, React, Node, and SQL.
• A growth-oriented mindset with an understanding of user onboarding, activation, and retention.
• Solid domain knowledge or a strong interest in the data analytics and business intelligence space.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Strategic thinking skills to identify patterns in customer needs and inform product direction.
• An execution-focused approach that prioritizes high-quality impact over perfection.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with Express, React-hooks, Docker, and GCP.
• A background as a full-stack engineer, a former founder, or a solutions engineer looking for more product influence.
