About the Role
The Senior Computational Linguist is a full-time position that offers the flexibility of working from anywhere. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering essential data annotation pipelines, developing golden datasets, and refining the evaluation criteria that drive our NLP and NLU systems forward. You will collaborate on diverse workstreams, ranging from language modeling and rules engine optimization to the integration of AI into cutting-edge hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust data annotation pipelines, including the creation of annotation guidelines and high-quality training datasets.
- Analyze and evaluate product features by performing linguistic data annotation, semantic labeling, and phonetic transcription.
- Identify systemic errors in system outputs and provide actionable solutions to improve model performance through prompt engineering and data analysis.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in linguistics and technical proficiency. We require the following qualifications:
- Native-level proficiency in your target language and fluency in English.
- Proven experience with Python scripting and the ability to write and adapt SQL queries.
- A deep understanding of syntax, semantics, morphology, or lexicography.
- Prior experience in annotation workflows and data collection.
- Exceptional communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage tasks independently.
- A degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field in computer science is preferred.
- An aptitude for learning new technical concepts and mastering in-house software tools quickly.
