We’re looking for a Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer to lead our final migration from on-prem data centers to AWS and help design a modern, cloud-native data and application stack.
You’ll work closely with our near-shore platform and delivery teams to implement scalable infrastructure, streamline CI/CD, and ensure security and observability across multiple environments and cloud providers.
Activities:
• Migrate our last systems from the DC to AWS (bot migration) This requires my team at a high level to support
- building short lived deployments via qovery,
- review terraform
- build and update cicd in github
- deploy systems to dev / prod
- support AWS troubleshooting for lambda / batch / sqs / step functions
- support with observability designs for the new system
• Build a new data layer (See below)
• Build a new API on the data layer
• Build a new website on the API
Data layer:
Replace our Aurora mysql cluster and Opensearch cluster with a new data layer. What that looks like is currently totally unknown or planned. Previous talks of snowflake are now largely dead in the water with our new CEO not seeing it as a suitable solution. my team would old the same responsabilities as above with also guidance on services and solutions in AWS that best fit
We then have BAU which covers:
• github pipeline troubleshooting and supporting
• on going security reviews and updates
- auto merge PRs for patch and minor
- renovate for dependency updates is currently being worked on
- we have a new requirement for central SEIM solution (likely opensearch)
- we have need to set up Azure and GCP and ensure they are both CIS compliance
• updates and deployments of terraform
• dependency updates of terraform modules / providers
• support / troubleshooting production issues (EKS for web and api with argo for deployments)
Proven experience migrating workloads from data centers to AWS
Strong knowledge of AWS (Lambda, Batch, SQS, Step Functions, EKS, CloudWatch)
Advanced Terraform skills, including authoring and maintaining modules
Expertise in CI/CD using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
Proficiency with observability tools (OpenSearch, Prometheus, Grafana)
Experience designing or replacing data layers (Aurora, DynamoDB, RDS, or similar)
Solid scripting experience in Python, Go, or similar
Understanding of security and compliance (CIS benchmarks, SIEM, AWS/Azure/GCP)
Familiarity with GitOps workflows and dependency automation (Renovate)
Excellent troubleshooting skills and production support experience
Advanced English
Preferred:
5+ years in DevOps or Cloud Engineering
Experience in startup or scale-up environments
Exposure to Qovery or similar environment orchestration tools
