We are a civil engineering firm with an established office in Plattsburgh, New York, serving both public agencies and private developers across the region. Our projects range from transportation corridors to land development sites, and we are expanding our team to support continued growth in these areas.
Key outcomes
- Complete technical work on assigned civil engineering projects, delivering designs for streets, utilities, site layouts, grading, and drainage that meet client and regulatory standards.
- Consult with project stakeholders and managerial staff to confirm that construction requirements for new designs, modifications, and structural repairs are clearly defined and achievable.
- Produce accurate drawings and models using design software to communicate proposed transportation, hydrology, and site infrastructure solutions.
- Direct and review the work of junior staff on design and construction tasks to maintain quality and schedule alignment.
- Analyze drawings, aerial imagery, survey data, maps, and geologic information to develop practical project plans.
- Prepare and present reports covering environmental impacts, right-of-way descriptions, and other project documentation.
- Calculate material, equipment, and labor costs to support accurate project budgeting.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and surveyors to keep projects aligned with design intent, safety requirements, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor construction progress through site observation to verify that specifications are followed and issues are addressed promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- At least five years of relevant engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D 2020.
- Professional Engineering license, or the demonstrated ability to obtain a New York State license within two years of hire.
- Proficiency in English for all written and verbal project communications.
- Full-time, on-site presence at the Plattsburgh, New York office.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with HydroCAD software.
- Experience preparing permit applications for local boards and state agencies.
- Background in field work and site observation services.
