Belvedere Trading is a prominent proprietary trading firm based in downtown Chicago, where we specialize in commodities, interest rates, ETFs, and equity index options. We are seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity to help us build and maintain the high-performance systems that drive our competitive edge in the market.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable trading applications that function effectively across various asset classes.
- Collaborate directly with our traders to deliver highly available software solutions.
- Enhance our internal development processes to improve efficiency and minimize operational risk.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and troubleshooting for our mission-critical trading platforms.
- Ensure high-quality system output by utilizing automated testing and participating in peer code reviews.
- Apply your technical expertise to innovate and promote development best practices across the team.
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of professional experience with C++ and Python.
- A deep understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proven experience in high-performance, multi-threaded, and network programming.
- The ability to take full ownership of projects, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- A willingness to mentor junior engineers while actively sharing knowledge with peers.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- A degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
- Prior experience or domain knowledge within the trading industry or a comparable sector.
- Demonstrated success in delivering automated trading systems.
