Senior C++ Software Engineer, Data Engines at Voltron Data

As a Senior C++ Software Engineer on our Data Engines team, you will play a pivotal role in developing Theseus, our accelerator-native engine designed for composability and massive scale. What you'll be doing

• You will collaborate with our development team to build, optimize, and maintain our data execution framework, focusing on enhancing its performance and scalability for Petabyte-scale workloads.
• You will design and implement core architectural components, including new relational algebra features, task scheduling improvements, and fault tolerance mechanisms.
• You will profile and analyze distributed query executions to solve complex performance issues and integrate our engine with other enterprise-grade solutions.

What you'll bring

• You have extensive experience developing in C++ and a strong background in building data processing engines or frameworks.
• You possess hands-on knowledge of distributed High-Performance Computing, including resource management for both CPU and GPU architectures.
• You are familiar with memory management, thread pools, and networking libraries like UCX or libfabric.
• You have worked with open-source projects such as Apache Arrow, Rapids, or Velox, and you have a solid grasp of SQL and distributed systems.
• You communicate effectively in English and thrive in a collaborative, remote-first environment.

What you'll get

The salary range for this position is $171,000.00 to $210,000.00, with final compensation determined by your specific experience and location. In addition to your salary, you will receive the following benefits:
