PlayVS stands as the premier amateur esports platform across North America. We provide a unified community where players compete, fans watch, and coaches oversee their programs. Our full-stack platform integrates game data, team-building utilities, leagues, and tournament scheduling into one cohesive experience. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of sophisticated backend systems, including new features and GraphQL APIs.
- Partner with product managers and designers to translate product visions into functional, high-performance software.
- Maintain a high standard of engineering by writing clean code, performing thorough code reviews, and improving our overall test coverage.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in product development with a focus on building scalable, high-performance software.
- Deep expertise in Node.js and its core principles.
- Proficiency in TypeScript for large-scale applications.
- Hands-on experience with GraphQL and Apollo frameworks.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- A growth mindset that prioritizes experimentation, data-driven decisions, and impactful results.
- Bonus points for experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform, as well as containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
