We are Workshop, a fast-growing, venture-backed startup headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. Our mission is to make Mondays happier for employees everywhere by building software that helps internal communications teams create, send, and measure engaging, multi-channel campaigns. We are looking for a driven Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team and help us design and build the next generation of our platform. While we prefer candidates based in Omaha, we are happy to consider remote applicants located within two hours of the CST time zone for the right fit.

What you'll be doing

You will collaborate directly with our product and design teams to translate our vision into scalable, high-quality software solutions.
You will take meaningful ownership of our engineering strategy, moving beyond simple ticket completion to influence the technical direction of key roadmap projects.
You will mentor junior developers on the team while enjoying the autonomy to ship code to production frequently and reliably.

What you'll bring

You possess deep experience with object-oriented programming in dynamically typed languages, with a strong preference for Ruby on Rails. We also utilize Node, TypeScript, and Vue within our stack.
You have a solid background in working with relational SQL databases, including schema design and query optimization, particularly with PostgreSQL.
You are passionate about web performance and treat optimization as a core feature rather than an afterthought.
You have a strong grasp of modern software development methodologies and a commitment to building excellent end-to-end user experiences.
You are fluent in English and ready to contribute to a collaborative, product-focused team.
