Ketch is a well-funded Series B startup building an intelligent data fabric to help businesses manage data privacy and governance. We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team in San Francisco, where you will help us create tools that allow organizations to maintain control over their data while respecting individual data rights.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain distributed backend systems using Golang.
- Create and improve APIs and services that strengthen our data privacy platform.
- Work alongside product and customer success teams to turn client challenges into technical solutions.
- Participate in client discussions to gain insights and ensure our platform addresses real-world business needs.
- Optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of our infrastructure.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Research new technologies and trends to help evolve our product architecture.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Must-haves
- Extensive experience building and scaling backend systems within cloud-native environments.
- Strong proficiency in Golang or other backend languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
- Solid understanding of database technologies such as Postgres, ScyllaDB, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
- Deep knowledge of microservices architecture, data modeling, and distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluency in English.

- Familiarity with concepts related to data governance and data privacy.
