What you bring

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Developer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. You will be a key player in our Assessment Platform group, where you will focus on building the tools that allow millions of learners to prove their job-ready skills. This role is open to candidates located anywhere, provided you have the right to work and can maintain a compatible timezone overlap with your team. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and personalized assessment features for our global user base.
• Guiding technical and architectural decisions that balance rapid innovation with long-term platform reliability.
• Mentoring fellow engineers and fostering a culture of high technical standards and continuous improvement.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 6 years of experience in backend development, specifically with Java and Spring Boot. We look for individuals who possess a strong foundation in distributed systems, data structures, and software design principles. You should have a proven track record of working with cloud platforms and microservices to build high-throughput systems. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is required. We value candidates who are excellent communicators and have experience leading technical initiatives from the initial concept through to production. Proficiency in English is essential for this role.

What we offer

We are committed to supporting our employees through a competitive compensation package, with a starting base salary range of $135,000 to $178,000. The final offer is determined by factors such as your specific experience, skills, and location. In addition to salary, we provide the following:
