At Codelitt, we thrive on helping companies launch new products and tackle their most complex challenges with the agility and innovative spirit of a startup. We are deeply committed to enhancing the lives of our users through the digital experiences we create. Right now, we are looking for a talented engineer to join us in a fast-paced environment where we are building the future of AI and machine learning. You will be working alongside the Enterprise Data Platform team at JLL to bridge the gap between diverse data sources and advanced AI frameworks, helping to turn raw information into powerful insights.
The opportunity
We are searching for a Senior Backend Python Engineer to join our team on a full-time contract basis. This role is initially set for six months, with a strong possibility of extending for two or more years. You will be at the heart of a rapid-development project, focusing on the integration of large datasets. This is a unique chance to work within a large organization while maintaining the high-energy, collaborative culture of a startup. You will be based in either Toronto or Chicago, working in a hybrid capacity that balances focused remote work with essential in-person collaboration.
A day in the life
- You will design and build robust data connectors that bridge the gap between structured SQL databases and unstructured sources like blob storage and documents.
- You will manage integrations with various third-party platforms, including CRM systems, Confluence, and AWS S3, to ensure a smooth flow of information.
- You will partner closely with our AI and machine learning specialists to optimize data ingestion, ensuring our query platform remains scalable, performant, and reliable.
Who you are
You are a seasoned developer who feels right at home in a fast-moving, ever-evolving technical landscape. You value transparency and believe that clear communication is the foundation of every successful team. You are naturally curious, always looking for ways to improve, and you possess the grit to push projects over the finish line. To be successful in this role, you should bring the following to the table:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Python development with a focus on backend architecture.
- Deep expertise in data integration, API development, and the creation of custom connectors.
- A solid understanding of AWS services, particularly S3, and experience working with both structured and unstructured data.
- Proficiency with Git for version control and experience managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Fluent communication skills in English and the ability to work from our Toronto or Chicago offices 1 to 2 days per week.
- An extra edge if you have prior experience with AI/ML frameworks or the real estate industry.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in fostering a culture of growth, curiosity, and constant learning. Beyond the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI initiatives, you will benefit from our hybrid work model, which provides the flexibility you need to balance your professional and personal life while still maintaining the vital human connections that come from working together in person.
