Our team works together to deliver technology that improves how people handle their savings, and we are now looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen our engineering function.
Key outcomes
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend systems that support our savings platform, ensuring resilience and scalability.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions using C# and .NET on Azure.
- Apply best practices in system design, architecture, and automation within an Agile environment to deliver reliable software.
- Improve engineering processes and influence architectural decisions as a subject matter expert in backend development.
- Coach and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of shared learning and technical excellence.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
Requirements
- At least seven years of commercial software development experience using C# and .NET or .NET Core.
- Strong understanding of SOLID principles, Event-Driven Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience developing on Microsoft Azure, including services such as Web Apps, Functions, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, and API Management.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational database development.
- Practical experience applying Test-Driven Development, including writing and maintaining tests with frameworks such as NUnit, Microsoft Test Framework, SpecFlow, or Selenium.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to varied audiences.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence, initiative, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Enthusiasm for mentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers.
- Proficiency in English.
