Senior Backend Engineer at Getpoint

By integrating rewards and benefits directly into an everyday debit card, we are creating a premium financial tool that truly aligns with our members' interests. We are a well-funded startup backed by the same investors behind industry leaders like Airbnb, Stripe, and Notion. Our team is lean, highly talented, and collaborative, featuring members who have helped design iconic products like the original iPhone. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join us on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States to help us scale our platform and build features that our members will love.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain stable, reliable integrations with our core vendors, including our card issuer, card printer, identity verification partners, and Plaid.
• Develop the backend logic required to power new product features, such as custom rewards and instant bank transfers, to help us grow and retain our user base.
• Design and implement scalable infrastructure capable of processing large volumes of data while maintaining low latency.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a backend engineer, with a minimum of 2 years specifically using Node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
• Proven experience working in a small startup environment, specifically helping a product go from zero to one while managing backend system growth.
• A strong commitment to software testing and security, ensuring that our platform remains reliable and safe for all users.
• A history of working in a senior capacity while remaining eager to contribute directly to the codebase as a core developer.
• A genuine passion for building consumer products that feature thoughtful, intuitive design across every layer of the stack, from the mobile interface down to the database architecture.
