We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Finance Royalty Processing team in a full-time capacity, working in a hybrid model from Germany, the United Kingdom, or Spain.
Key outcomes
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, and event-driven services using Scala.
- Take full ownership of initiatives from conception to completion, adhering to the you build it, you run it philosophy.
- Maintain a high release cadence while ensuring code quality through robust test automation and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate closely with business partners to create software systems that drive real-world impact.
- Manage cloud-native infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Ensure system reliability through effective monitoring, observability, and alerting.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in back-end software development.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Scala, ideally utilizing libraries such as cats, cats-effect, http4s, or doobie.
- Proven background in designing service-oriented architectures and working with both relational and non-relational databases.
- Strong proficiency in DevOps principles, version control, and test-driven development.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, specifically Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams.
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and collaborative modeling techniques.
- A team-first mindset with the ability to work effectively in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience managing large-scale, data-intensive systems capable of processing terabytes of information.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly Pulumi.
- A genuine passion for the music industry.
