Elevate Labs is on a mission to improve minds globally, having reached millions through our award-winning apps, Elevate and Balance. As a fully remote team of passionate learners, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us scale our infrastructure and support our growing portfolio of products.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of complex projects by collaborating with Product, Marketing, and Content teams to deliver high-performance, reliable backend systems.
- Propose and implement new ideas to improve our team's processes and technology stack.
- Mentor fellow engineers to help them grow while remaining open to learning from your teammates.
- Focus primarily on backend development while occasionally supporting colleagues across other areas of the stack, such as mobile, data, or DevOps.
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
- A strong passion for product-focused problem solving and staying current with industry trends.
- Proven experience integrating third-party APIs, including single sign-on, purchasing, and analytics services.
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to provide constructive feedback to improve our products.
- The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive projects to completion autonomously.
- A track record of having shipped at least one customer-facing product.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with our specific technology stack, which includes Ruby on Rails, Python, Heroku, AWS, Cloudflare, PostgreSQL, Redis, Snowflake, and DBT.
- Background in building backends specifically for mobile applications.
- Experience with web or full-stack development.
- Familiarity with maintaining content delivery systems.
- Experience managing billing systems, such as Stripe or mobile app stores.
- A genuine interest in mental health, brain training, and meditation.
