We are Frasers Group, a global retail powerhouse behind iconic brands like Sports Direct and USC. Our internal IT department is the engine of our business, as we build and maintain our core systems in-house rather than relying on external partners. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Digital Data Squad. You will work within a motivated, agile team that values innovation and high-quality delivery. Key outcomes
- Contribute to the development of our sophisticated, in-house ecommerce platform that powers over 50 websites for some of the biggest names in retail.
- Build robust data applications and services that provide fast, reliable, and innovative experiences for our customers.
- Focus on backend development, specifically working with data-heavy systems and modern technology stacks.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on quality assurance, continuous integration, and the power of automation.
- Design, develop, and test scalable, architecturally sound solutions that meet our high performance standards.
- Keep our systems at the cutting edge by researching new industry trends and finding creative ways to implement them.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior backend engineering role.
- Strong technical proficiency in backend development, data systems, and ecommerce architecture.
- A solid understanding of quality assurance practices and continuous integration pipelines.
- The ability to design and maintain fast, scalable software solutions.
- Fluency in English, as this is our primary language for collaboration.
- A proactive mindset toward learning and staying current with evolving technology.
Compensation
We offer a hybrid work model, which consists of three days in the office and two days working from home. This role is based in Malaysia.
