We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and help us build the foundational infrastructure for our growing product portfolio.

Key outcomes

• Lead the technical design and execution of complex projects by collaborating with product, marketing, and content teams to deliver reliable, high-performance backend systems.
• Propose innovative ideas to improve our internal processes and technological capabilities.
• Mentor fellow engineers to support their professional growth while remaining open to learning from your peers.
• Focus primarily on backend development while occasionally assisting with other areas of the stack, including mobile, data, or DevOps.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• A strong passion for solving product-focused challenges.
• A commitment to staying current with the latest backend technologies and industry news.
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs, specifically regarding single sign-on, purchasing, and analytics.
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to provide constructive feedback to enhance our products.
• The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive projects to completion independently.
• A track record of shipping at least one customer-facing product.
• Proficiency in our core stack, which includes Ruby on Rails, Python, Shell, AWS, Heroku, Cloudflare, PostgreSQL, Redis, Snowflake, and DBT.

Preferred qualifications

• Direct experience with any of the specific technologies in our current stack.
• Prior work building backends specifically for mobile applications.
• Background in web or full-stack development.
• Experience maintaining content delivery systems.
• Familiarity with billing systems such as Stripe, the Apple App Store, or the Google Play Store.
• A personal interest in mental health, meditation, or brain training.
