Founded in 2021 by MIT graduates, our Berlin-based startup is dedicated to bringing transparency and efficiency to industries that have historically relied on opaque cash transactions and high fees. With over 39 million dollars in funding from partners like Addition and Atlantic Labs, we are expanding our reach and refining our financial technology. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in a full-time, hybrid capacity to help us build secure and scalable solutions for the global shipping industry.
Key outcomes
- Take full ownership of our core backend systems, including the development of reusable libraries and complex financial components.
- Manage integrations with various external service providers to ensure seamless platform functionality.
- Collaborate closely with our product, compliance, and engineering teams to design systems that handle secure financial transactions at scale.
- Drive innovation within a highly regulated environment while maintaining the reliability and security of our financial platform.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in backend engineering, specifically using Java and Spring Boot.
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Expertise in modern frameworks, SDKs, and API standards.
- Proven experience with testing methodologies, including JUnit and Spock.
- A strong background in creating scalable systems, ideally within the fintech or financial services sectors.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with React for frontend tasks.
- Previous experience in the development of financial products.
