Senior Backend Engineer at Wristcheck

What you bring

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a vital part of our engineering team, focusing on the core systems that power our marketplace. You will work in a full-time capacity, and while this role is currently remote, please note that we expect to transition to a hybrid or fully on-site model in Metro Manila in the future. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining secure, scalable backend systems using NestJS and TypeScript.
• Designing high-performance RESTful APIs to support our growing platform.
• Managing PostgreSQL databases and utilizing Prisma ORM to ensure efficient data modeling and query performance.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a collaborative mindset. You should hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. We require at least four years of professional experience in backend development, specifically with Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS. You should be comfortable working with PostgreSQL and Prisma, and possess a solid understanding of AWS cloud architecture. Strong problem-solving abilities and clear communication in English are essential for success in this role. While not required, familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and OpenAPI specifications will certainly help you stand out.
