We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. Wristcheck is a pioneering platform that is transforming how people buy, sell, and learn about watches by blending traditional retail with advanced technology. Since our launch in 2020, we have built a global community supported by investors like Gobi Partners and the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund. In this role, you will help build the systems behind our marketplace, including our proprietary price index and image recognition tools. While this position is currently remote, please note that we expect to transition to a hybrid or fully on-site model in Metro Manila in the future, and you will be required to work local hours.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure, scalable backend systems using NestJS and TypeScript.
- Design high-performance RESTful APIs and manage efficient data models using PostgreSQL and Prisma.
- Optimize our application performance on AWS infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in backend development, specifically with Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
- Proven ability to work with PostgreSQL and Prisma, alongside experience with AWS cloud architecture.
- Strong communication skills in English and a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with Git, Docker, OpenAPI, and CI/CD pipelines is considered a significant advantage.
