Role at a glance

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site role based in South Africa, where you will help us design and maintain the robust systems that keep our platform running reliably for our merchants.

• You will tackle complex technical challenges and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and provide seamless integrations.

What you'll need

To succeed in this role, you should have extensive experience working with large, distributed systems at scale. We value candidates who are proficient in JavaScript or other major languages and have a deep understanding of MySQL databases. You should be comfortable working with Node.js, Docker, and AWS. Because we operate in a collaborative environment, clear communication in English is essential. We are looking for someone who takes full ownership of their work and is genuinely passionate about building products that empower African businesses.
