The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help us scale our mission. You will play a vital role in designing, testing, and implementing the core software that powers our building controls and our serverless cloud infrastructure. This is a unique chance to work on systems that process billions of data points, directly contributing to lower energy costs and reduced carbon output. A day in the life

• You will serve as a core contributor to our primary Golang application and infrastructure, which powers our web and mobile platforms while interfacing with our extensive sensor networks.
• You will write intelligent, efficient code designed to process and analyze billions of data points every year.
• You will collaborate on the architecture of our embedded software and cloud systems, ensuring our technology remains robust and scalable as we expand to more buildings.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who thrives when working with systems at scale and enjoys mentoring others. You should be a collaborative engineer who is passionate about building new products from the ground up.

• You have at least 5 years of professional engineering experience, including 3 or more years working hands-on with Golang.
• You possess extensive technical expertise with AWS services, specifically DynamoDB, SQS, AWS Lambda, EC2, and CloudFormation.
• You have experience building embedded software architecture and are comfortable working in an English-speaking environment.
• While not required, having experience with Python is considered a great plus.
