We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. At Aerospike, we specialize in building the world's leading real-time data platform, which empowers innovative companies to solve complex, large-scale challenges. Our technology enables global brands like PayPal, Snap, and Wayfair to handle mission-critical applications, from fighting fraud to delivering hyper-personalized user experiences. By joining our Cloud team, you will play a central role in developing our multi-cloud, multi-tenant platform, directly influencing how we deliver high-performance solutions to our customers around the world.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, project managers, and fellow engineers to drive progress on our long-term technology roadmap.
- Develop high-quality, efficient code while setting a high standard for team performance and delivery speed.
- Build prototypes, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize our backend services to ensure maximum scalability and performance.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in computer science and algorithms, along with the following qualifications:
- Proven experience designing and maintaining distributed, multi-tenant, and auto-scalable backend services.
- Proficiency in at least one statically typed language such as Go, Kotlin, Java, or Scala.
- Hands-on experience with major public cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Deep understanding of NoSQL and relational databases, including data modeling and replication strategies.
- Experience managing distributed services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipeline management.
- Knowledge of security standards regarding authentication, authorization, and encryption.
What we offer
We provide a competitive salary for this position, with a range of $170,000 to $195,000 for applicants based in California. Actual compensation is determined based on your specific experience, location, and other relevant legal factors.
