Senior Backend Engineer at Solsten

By combining play, psychology, and AI, we provide tools that allow brands to deeply understand their audiences, and we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in Berlin, Germany to help build the next generation of our platform.

Responsibilities

• Architect software solutions that align with our business strategy and technical priorities.
• Develop and maintain scalable Microservices using Go.
• Write clean, efficient, and highly testable code for high-volume systems.
• Design and optimize database schemas to support our platform requirements.
• Implement industry best practices across various technical domains.
• Identify and execute new opportunities to add value for our customers.

Must-haves

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proven track record of building and managing high-load production systems using Microservices in Go.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, including gRPC, Kafka, NoSQL, SQL, and Redis.
• Practical experience with major cloud platforms, with a preference for GCP.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and experience working within Agile Scrum teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and application deployment.
• Proficiency with gRPC and Protobuf.
• Experience working with message brokers.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Ability to translate general product requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Interest in or familiarity with psychometric data.
