The opportunity

In this role, you will serve as a cornerstone of our engineering department. Your primary mission is to design and maintain the architecture that powers our financial products. We need someone who can balance the need for rapid growth with the necessity of a stable, secure, and efficient system. You will work closely with our product teams to ensure that every service we deploy is built for longevity and performance, helping us navigate the complexities of high-volume transactions and third-party financial integrations.

A day in the life

• You will architect and refine our backend systems, focusing on the transition to and maintenance of microservices that can handle significant transaction loads.
• You will build and optimize RESTful APIs and event-driven communication channels to ensure seamless data exchange across our entire technical ecosystem.
• You will take charge of performance tuning and security, identifying bottlenecks and implementing robust defenses to protect our platform against potential threats.

Who you are

We are looking for a seasoned engineer who thrives in high-growth environments. You should have at least five years of experience in backend development, specifically within the FinTech or broader financial industry. You are comfortable working in a remote setting and possess the following qualifications:

• Deep hands-on experience with microservices architectures and data modeling using relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• A strong commitment to clean, maintainable code supported by a rigorous testing mindset, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to document complex system architectures clearly for the rest of the team.
• A proactive approach to solving technical challenges, with a focus on scalability and system reliability.
