Senior Backend Engineer at Zerion

We are searching for a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our fully remote team at Zerion. Our platform serves as a comprehensive interface for managing DeFi and NFT portfolios, allowing users to trade across more than 10 networks and connect to decentralized applications through a single wallet. We are on a mission to bring transparent, permissionless, and efficient financial services to people around the globe. As a member of our distributed team, you will help us build and scale the critical infrastructure that supports hundreds of thousands of users.

Key outcomes

• Develop robust APIs and scalable backend solutions that directly improve the experience for our users.
• Write clean, efficient code while contributing to the creation of new features and services.
• Take ownership of architectural decisions to drive innovation and platform growth.
• Optimize existing infrastructure by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate within an autonomous, cross-functional team alongside mobile and frontend engineers.
• Participate in technical planning sessions and provide constructive feedback during code reviews.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience designing and building distributed backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and experience with Python3.
• Solid understanding of data structures, design patterns, and fundamental algorithms.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools including Prometheus, Sentry, and Grafana.
• Understanding of blockchain systems, smart contracts, and dApps.
• A proactive mindset suited for a fast-paced startup environment that values trust and autonomy.

Preferred qualifications

• Active participation in the Web3 ecosystem.
• Experience working with specialized databases or time-series data like ClickHouse or TimescaleDB.
• A history of open-source contributions, technical blogging, or personal projects.
• Experience attending or participating in industry conferences.
