We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and help build the technology that powers our insurance platform.

Key outcomes

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, build, and maintain the core systems and APIs that support our user experiences.
• Develop internal tools and services to streamline business and engineering workflows.
• Execute architectural improvements to ensure our systems remain stable, performant, and scalable.
• Integrate with third-party services to manage claims, documents, and payments.
• Connect with external data providers to source real-time information, such as property risk profiles and characteristics.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members while participating in critical architectural and operational decision-making.
• Engage in regular team rituals, including daily stand-ups and retrospectives, to foster a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional experience in backend web development.
• Proven proficiency in Go, as you will be required to complete a code challenge in this language as part of our interview process.
• A demonstrated ability to deliver complete systems independently.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL, Python, Terraform, and APIs.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as VueJS, Webpack, Nuxt, and Tailwind is highly valued.

Compensation

The full salary range for this position is $159,200 to $238,800 USD, with a target hiring range of $169,150 to $179,100 USD. Actual compensation is determined based on your unique skills and experience.
