Senior Backend Engineer at Doss

We are currently developing a platform that acts as the Terraform for operators. Our mission is to provide an AI-generated schema layer that powers a white-labeled data warehouse, allowing companies that deal with physical goods to update their systems of record as quickly as their business operations evolve. We are working on advanced projects like foundation models that drive schema migrations, real-time observability across financial and operational data, and complex git-style versioning for schemas. About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join us in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our technical architecture, helping us build the systems that allow operations teams to manage their business processes as code. You will work closely with our product and design teams to transform complex back-office challenges into elegant, resilient systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain our core EAV data model and schema-as-code platform to ensure both high flexibility and transactional integrity for our customers.
• Develop a version-control and migration engine that allows for rolling changes to schemas and data within live production environments.
• Create AI-assisted tools that leverage foundation models to validate, propose, and implement new workflow definitions and customer schemas.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should have a strong background in engineering and a passion for building high-quality software. We value candidates who possess the following:

• Deep expertise in building large-scale ETL processes using databases such as Postgres, Elasticsearch, and graph databases.
• Proven experience using cloud services to deploy and maintain reliable web applications.
• The ability to work with complex abstractions to design scalable, graph-based architectures.

Location

This position is based in the United States and requires an on-site presence.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $180,000 to $230,000, along with a significant equity component because we believe our team members should have ownership in the company. Our benefits package includes:
