The role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a unique opportunity to experience the agility of a startup environment while backed by the resources of a globally successful organization. Based in our new Athens office, you will work in a hybrid capacity, collaborating closely with our international teams in Germany to build and scale our industry-leading e2e solutions.

Core responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of the full DevOps cycle, including the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operation of our applications.
• Define efficient pipelines and orchestrate cloud resources to ensure our systems remain scalable and high-performing.
• Write clean, reusable, and testable code while actively contributing to technical discussions and promoting best practices in security and data protection.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and a proactive mindset. We value the following qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience writing maintainable code in Java, with a strong preference for the Spring Boot framework.
• Deep understanding of relational database design, specifically SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with modern cloud-based architectures, particularly GCP, as well as Git, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• A solid grasp of testing methodologies and a commitment to high-quality software design.
• Fluency in English and a self-organized approach to problem-solving.
