We operate a vertically integrated platform that provides nationwide telehealth, laboratory services, and pharmacy care, covering the entire journey from initial diagnosis to ongoing treatment. Since our founding in 2017, we have supported millions of patients across the United States, including those in 98% of primary care deserts. We are currently seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Identity and Privacy team to help us build a patient-centric healthcare system that prioritizes transparency, convenience, and security.
Key outcomes
- Innovate at the intersection of identity, security, and privacy to evolve our user registration, authentication, and consent management patterns.
- Design and implement secure, scalable identity solutions for our customer-facing applications using protocols like OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and WebAuthn.
- Partner with our product, design, data, and security teams to build experiences that remain compliant with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and privacy frameworks like CCPA.
- Lead the technical roadmap for the team, taking ownership of initiatives from the initial design phase through to implementation and long-term maintenance.
- Stay informed on emerging industry trends to architect systems that proactively address the evolving privacy and regulatory landscape.
Requirements
- Five to seven years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Proven ability to design and build distributed systems and scalable web applications.
- Deep expertise in identity protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, WebAuthn, and FIDO2.
- A strong sense of ownership and the ability to navigate ambiguous problems while driving technical roadmaps.
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated capacity to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred qualifications
- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks like HIPAA and CCPA.
- Experience developing systems for user consent and preference management.
- Background in working within regulated industries, such as finance or healthcare, with a focus on security compliance.
- Experience with customer data platforms or first-party data.
- Proficiency with FastAPI and Postgres.
- Experience in service design and establishing architectural best practices for engineering teams.
Compensation
The target base salary for this position ranges from $179,000 to $212,000, depending on factors such as location, skills, and experience. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
