At Wingspan, we are building the first payroll platform designed specifically for the modern, flexible workforce. We are a Series A startup based in NYC, backed by incredible partners like Andreessen Horowitz and the founders of companies like Warby Parker and Allbirds. We are looking for an ambitious engineer to help us scale our platform to millions of users.

Role at a glance

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere. You will be instrumental in designing and maintaining the enterprise-grade software that powers our payroll infrastructure.

Your impact

Design and implement high-quality, scalable software solutions that solve real-world problems for our users.
Collaborate closely with product, design, and QA teams to ensure we are shipping seamless, reliable features on time.
Drive the growth of our engineering culture by mentoring teammates, conducting thorough code reviews, and identifying opportunities to optimize our existing systems.

What you'll need

At least 5 years of professional software development experience, specifically with object-oriented programming.
Expertise in Node and TypeScript.
Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and software design principles.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software testing methodologies.
A solid grasp of data structures and algorithms.
Fluency in English and a proven ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
