The role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position based in Canada, operating in a hybrid capacity. You will work alongside a group of talented engineers to solve complex challenges related to distributed systems, focusing on our core backend services, APIs, and event-driven architecture.

Core responsibilities

• Design and propose stable, scalable architectures while partnering with stakeholders to define the technical direction of our product.
• Develop high-performance, event-driven microservices and lead by example by writing clean, testable, and scalable code.
• Provide expert code reviews, guide technical decision-making, and diagnose or resolve issues within our production environment.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Extensive professional experience working with Go.
• In-depth knowledge of building and supporting complex distributed systems.
• Proven ability to develop event-driven services and design large-scale applications.
• Experience debugging, optimizing, and maintaining services in a production environment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in English.
