We are looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer to join our fully remote team and help us build the scalable systems that power our mission.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust backend services and APIs to support our core platform features.
- Lead the creation of data pipelines and integration systems that unify our various platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Architect and maintain distributed systems capable of supporting our growing user base.
- Establish best practices for engineering, participate in code reviews, and maintain high standards for code quality.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to high-level technical design decisions.
- Implement monitoring systems and data quality processes to ensure platform reliability.
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development.
- Expertise in Python and asynchronous programming.
- Proven experience working with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS or Google Cloud.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and containerization tools like Docker.
- Strong grasp of system design, algorithms, and data structures.
- Proficiency with Git for version control.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively within a remote, cross-functional team environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with microservices architecture and open-source contributions.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, DBT, Redshift, Redis, or ElasticSearch.
- Background in building and supporting ELT/ETL data pipelines.
- Previous experience in a formal mentorship capacity.
Benefits
The annual salary for this position is $100,000 USD.
