Senior Back End Engineer at Literati

We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. At Literati, we are passionate about helping children fall in love with reading. We combine expert curation with data science to provide high-quality books through our school book fairs, fundraising platforms, and subscription clubs. By joining us, you will play a vital role in supporting the infrastructure that powers our products and internal operations, ultimately helping us foster a lifelong love of learning in kids across the country.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, working alongside cross-functional partners to design and deploy scalable, robust solutions.
• Mentor other engineers by providing constructive code reviews and fostering a culture of technical growth and high-quality standards.
• Ensure the reliability of our systems by implementing comprehensive testing strategies and proactively managing technical debt to maintain long-term stability.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience leading web application architecture initiatives.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience building applications with Python.
• At least 3 years of experience managing cloud hosting environments, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and BASH.
• Expertise in designing effective APIs and data models.
• Proven ability to work within an Agile framework and use version control tools like Git.
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of mentoring developers to promote operational excellence.
