At Brain Corp, we are dedicated to transforming the robotics industry through advanced artificial intelligence. Based in San Diego, we power the world's largest fleet of autonomous mobile robots, with over 30,000 units currently operating in commercial public spaces. Our mission is to help the real world work better by creating technology that enables machines to navigate complex environments safely and efficiently. Backed by industry leaders like the SoftBank Vision Fund and Qualcomm Ventures, we are looking for a Senior Autonomy Engineer to join our R&D team and help us build the next generation of robotic software.
What you'll be doing
- You will implement and refine mapping and localization solutions that allow our robots to navigate safely and reliably in dynamic, real-world settings.
- You will conduct research into the latest SLAM advancements, translating academic publications into practical, high-performance software implementations for our robot fleet.
- You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to your colleagues, guiding the development of robust algorithms and software frameworks that streamline our research efforts.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in robotics and a passion for solving complex navigation challenges. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of industry experience in robotics, self-driving technology, or embodied AI.
- Advanced proficiency in C++ and Python within a Linux environment.
- Deep expertise in SLAM algorithms and a proven track record of applying them to real-world hardware.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch, as well as familiarity with robotic middleware such as ROS.
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in an Agile team environment.
What you'll get
We offer a competitive base salary ranging from 152,000 USD to 183,000 USD, depending on your specific experience and background. In addition to your compensation, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and long-term financial goals:
- Stock options to give you a stake in our collective success.
- A 401k plan with company matching.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage for you and your family.
