About the Role
We are searching for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will serve as a technical lead, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of automated workflows for photolithography, high-throughput microscopy, and liquid handling. This is an on-site position where you will apply your expertise in optical systems to deliver scalable and reliable scientific workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of scalable workflows for high-resolution imaging, liquid handling, and photolithography.
- Create in-house microscope control software and intuitive user interfaces to facilitate the integration of hardware into our automation processes.
- Design, prototype, and refine hardware accessories, such as sample holders and stage modifications, to support our automation needs.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in optical engineering, physics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of industry experience, or a PhD in a relevant field paired with at least 3 years of industry experience.
- Proven ability to deliver complex engineering projects on time.
- Proficiency in software development using Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
- A demonstrated track record of managing system design and integration from the initial concept through to production.
- Experience with Git and DevOps practices, as well as a strong background in biotechnology and systems engineering.
Location
This position is based in the United States and requires an on-site presence.
