At General Atlantic we back visionary founders and help scale innovative companies across the globe. With more than forty-five years of experience and roughly $114 billion in assets under management, our platform spans Growth Equity, Credit, Climate, and Sustainable Infrastructure strategies and supports more than 900 professionals in twenty countries. We are now expanding the technology team that powers this platform and are looking for a Senior Associate Software Engineer to help modernize the applications our investment professionals rely on every day.
What is this role?
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Associate Software Engineer position based in the United States. The role sits within our internal technology organization and reports directly to the Director, Lead Programmer. You will work at a senior level, contributing hands-on code while also guiding architectural decisions and mentoring teammates in an Agile-plus-DevOps environment.
What will you do?
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack solutions in a cloud-native .NET and Azure ecosystem, writing clean, reusable code that meets both business requirements and technical standards.
- Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical tasks, participate in architecture and change-management reviews, and keep our shared backlog healthy and well-prioritized.
- Advance our continuous-delivery practice by strengthening CI/CD pipelines, performing peer code reviews, and providing L2/L3 support so that our platforms remain reliable and our users receive white-glove service.
What makes you a great fit?
You bring at least five years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft .NET stack and at least five years building solutions in public-cloud environments, Azure experience being a strong plus. You have spent at least three years in financial-services technology, giving you an intuitive grasp of the regulatory and operational demands of the industry. You are fluent in microservices, messaging patterns, RESTful API design, SQL, and modern data architectures, and you have built responsive web interfaces with React or TypeScript. Working knowledge of Terraform, Azure DevOps, Jira, and git is essential, as is proven success creating automated CI/CD pipelines. Beyond the technical toolkit, you thrive in fast-paced settings, communicate clearly in English, and approach every challenge with a collaborative, can-do mindset.
What's in it for you?
We offer a competitive base salary between $140,000 and $190,000, with the precise figure determined by the depth of your skills and experience. In addition, you will receive medical insurance, a 401(k) retirement-savings plan with company contributions, a mental-wellness budget, generous paid time off, and the flexibility to work remotely when appropriate. Eligible employees may also participate in our annual discretionary bonus and long-term incentive programs, recognizing the role you play in our collective success.
