At Radformation, we are driven by the urgent need to address rising cancer rates by ensuring that high-quality care is accessible to everyone, regardless of their location. We are building a future where treatment planning workflows are fully automated and standardized. Our mission is to reduce the global impact of cancer and help save as many of the 10 million lives lost to the disease each year as possible. We are dedicated to providing reliable, automated tools that empower clinics to deliver consistent, life-saving care to every patient in need.
The role
We are looking for a Senior Applied Research Scientist to join our fast-paced, innovative team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere. You will play a pivotal role in developing novel radiotherapy algorithms and creating software that directly improves cancer treatment outcomes on a global scale. We need a self-directed professional who can take a concept from the initial research phase all the way through to a finished product.
Core responsibilities
- Take full technical ownership of our proprietary dose calculation algorithms.
- Collaborate closely with our research and product teams to design and build new radiotherapy products.
- Test and benchmark our internal algorithms against established industry standards to ensure maximum performance and reliability.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in software engineering and algorithm development. We value candidates who can bridge the gap between clinical needs and technical solutions.
- Deep knowledge of traditional dose calculation methods, such as Pencil Beam or CVSP.
- Proven ability to design experiments, implement new technologies, and maintain software solutions used in clinical settings.
- Strong programming skills in a modern language.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
- A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to translate clinician feedback into automated solutions.
- Strong writing and presentation skills to document performance and share findings.
- Preferred: A deep understanding of Monte Carlo simulation methods for radiotherapy dose calculation.
Compensation and benefits
We believe in taking care of our team members and their families. Our benefits package is designed to support your health, well-being, and long-term security.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) plan with an immediate employer match.
- Self-managed paid time off to ensure you have the flexibility you need.
- Support for growing families through generous parental leave and transition programs.
- A fully remote work environment supported by virtual events and yearly team retreats.
How to apply
If you are passionate about using your research and engineering skills to make a tangible difference in the fight against cancer, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our mission-driven team as we continue to innovate and improve cancer care for patients worldwide.
