Senior Android Engineer at Bureau

Bureau operates a unified risk decisioning platform that addresses compliance, fraud, and transaction risks. Our engine is supported by an identity knowledge graph containing over one billion entries. We currently serve more than 150 fintechs, banks, retailers, and digital platforms, helping them verify identities and prevent fraud on a global scale. Having secured over 50 million dollars in funding from prominent investors like PayPal Ventures and Sorenson Capital, we are currently scaling our operations across the Americas, Europe, and the APAC region. We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our Fraud Prevention Team and help us build the infrastructure that secures digital transactions for millions of users.

Key outcomes

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android SDKs and reusable platform modules.
• Partner with various product teams to identify repeatable patterns and transform them into shared, scalable tools.
• Develop cross-platform components using Flutter to ensure consistent functionality across mobile ecosystems.
• Enhance SDK performance by focusing on memory management, battery efficiency, and overall reliability.
• Utilize MVVM patterns, SOLID principles, and clean architecture to maintain a high standard of code quality.
• Implement comprehensive instrumentation and logging to ensure system observability.
• Coordinate with DevOps, QA, and CI/CD teams to streamline SDK delivery and release cycles.
• Monitor Android platform updates to ensure our tools remain current and secure.

Requirements

• Four to six years of professional experience in Android development.
• Deep proficiency in Kotlin and Java, including a strong grasp of Android SDK internals.
• Extensive experience with Gradle, multi-module architectures, and build optimization.
• A proven history of building and distributing SDKs that are utilized across multiple applications.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, app lifecycles, and memory management.
• Familiarity with Flutter and Dart, or a strong desire to work within cross-platform environments.
• Experience with system-level debugging tools such as LeakCanary and Android Profiler.
• Practical knowledge of REST APIs, SSL pinning, secure coding practices, and R8/Proguard.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience integrating native modules and writing platform channels in Flutter.
• Active contributions to open-source projects within the Android or Flutter communities.
• Knowledge of semantic versioning and internal artifact management using Maven.
• Exposure to low-level system APIs or custom hardware integrations.
