The role
We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position based in the United Kingdom, offering a hybrid work environment with occasional travel to our London office. You will be part of a collaborative, remote-first team of over 30 engineers, working closely with our product and customer-facing departments to improve the data experience for thousands of users worldwide.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a robust suite of production SQL data models, with a primary focus on using dbt for packaging and execution.
- Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to shape our data collection trackers and expand our commercial data modeling offerings.
- Support customer-facing initiatives by demonstrating the power of Snowplow data for advanced use cases, such as marketing attribution, lifetime value modeling, and recommendation systems.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Mastery of SQL, including performance tuning and the manipulation of large datasets.
- Extensive experience with dbt and modern data modeling practices.
- Strong software engineering background, including proficiency in Python, Git, and CI/CD workflows.
- Practical experience working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to drive technical initiatives autonomously from discovery to delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, with a preference for candidates who have experience in technical content writing.
