Senior Accountant Revenue Operations at Airbnb

Our Platform Controlling team is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for Revenue Operations to join us in a full-time, remote capacity within the United States.

Key outcomes

• Support the monthly financial reporting and close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries.
• Operationalize and optimize platform accounting, specifically focusing on items impacting the income statement and balance sheet.
• Ensure SOX compliance by maintaining key controls and accurate US GAAP financial reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering and finance systems teams to design and implement revenue automation and recognition tools.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audit requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Business Development, and Engineering, to manage revenue platform projects.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, ideally combining Big 4 firm experience with time spent at a large-scale technology company.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• A CPA or CA designation, or active progress toward obtaining one.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and a strong grasp of US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
• Proven ability to analyze high-volume, multi-currency transactions within a global business environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience identifying, designing, and implementing internal controls and financial best practices.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of SQL.
• Experience working with large ERP systems such as Workday or Oracle.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is 100,000 USD to 120,000 USD. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, equity, and employee travel credits. We also provide life insurance and support a remote work environment.
