MUI began in 2014 with the launch of Material UI, which quickly became the most successful React implementation of Google's Material Design. Since our founding as a startup in 2019, we have grown into a team of over 35 people dedicated to building an expansive ecosystem of React UI products. Our offerings now include core libraries like Base UI and Pigment CSS, as well as MUI X for advanced data visualization and Toolpad for low-code application building. Key outcomes
- Lead the transition of our sales model from a purely inbound approach to a hybrid strategy that incorporates proactive outbound efforts.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, qualification, closing deals, and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Collaborate with leadership to define and implement comprehensive sales strategies, including market segmentation and pricing.
- Build and scale our sales function by defining roles, hiring top talent, and providing ongoing coaching and mentorship.
- Optimize sales processes through data-driven insights to maximize efficiency and overall performance.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and provide regular reporting on key performance indicators to the leadership team.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to refine our approach and ensure our product value resonates with technical stakeholders like CTOs and Heads of Engineering.
Requirements
- Proven track record of selling developer-focused products, specifically UI libraries, front-end development tools, or APIs.
- Demonstrated success in upselling, cross-selling, and increasing total contract values and renewal rates.
- Experience managing mid-market and enterprise sales cycles that involve multiple engagement points.
- A self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously in an environment where processes are still being defined.
- Strong ambition to grow professionally, with the motivation to eventually transition into a formal sales team lead role.
- Excellent communication skills, with a preference for written, asynchronous collaboration.
- Fluency in English.

- Existing professional network within the developer community.
- Prior experience working with Open Core business models.
- Familiarity with modern sales automation tools.
- Active participation in developer events or communities.
- A genuine passion for cutting-edge UI, UX, and software technology.
