The role
We are looking for a Security Research Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a mid-level position that offers the flexibility of remote work from anywhere. In this role, you will play a vital part in keeping our clients ahead of evolving cybersecurity threats by conducting deep research and helping us refine our security solutions.
Core responsibilities
- Investigate emerging cybersecurity threats and new technologies to stay ahead of potential risks.
- Develop and refine security policies designed to prevent and mitigate vulnerabilities within code.
- Work alongside our Data Science team to train and evaluate machine learning models and other innovative AI solutions.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong technical foundation and a passion for security research. We require the following qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in code auditing across languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Go, Python, Swift, Kotlin, Ruby, TypeScript, or C++.
- A sophisticated understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerability patterns.
- Demonstrable software development experience in one or more of the languages listed above.
- Familiarity with static analysis and compiler theory.
- Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills to share findings with the team and the broader security community.
- An eagerness to learn new frameworks and languages.
Bonus points if you have published CVEs, hold certifications like the OSCP, or have experience with Code Property Graphs.
