Security Operations Specialist at AutoScout24

We are looking for a dedicated Security Operations Specialist to join the team at AutoScout24. As a prominent player in the digital automotive marketplace, we pride ourselves on our diverse community of over 50 nationalities. In this full-time, on-site role based in Germany, you will help us shape our security strategy and enhance our cloud defense capabilities.

Key outcomes

• Take charge of improving our security incident management products and internal processes.
• Serve as a security incident commander during critical events.
• Establish and promote best practices for incident response throughout the organization.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing both within our immediate team and across the broader company.
• Maintain end-to-end ownership of the security tools developed by our team.
• Contribute to the information security on-call rotation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience working as a security incident response or SOC engineer.
• A strong, genuine passion for defensive security.
• Proven ability to manage security incidents effectively while understanding key success metrics.
• Expertise in the configuration, maintenance, and automation of SIEM tooling.
• Practical experience managing cloud infrastructure, specifically within AWS using CloudFormation, the ELK stack, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Direct, hands-on experience using CrowdStrike and MS Defender.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, with a preference for Python.
• Comfort and experience working with command-line tools in Unix environments.
• Familiarity with the Cyber Kill Chain or the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• A proactive mindset toward using AI and Generative AI to automate workflows, debug code, and improve overall engineering productivity.
