We are looking for a Security Operations Engineer to join us in a full-time, on-site capacity to help us mature our security operations.
Key outcomes
- Design, build, and maintain the tooling necessary to enhance our detection and response capabilities regarding security events.
- Automate and scale our monitoring infrastructure to ensure high availability and security.
- Serve as a final point of escalation for complex security issues by participating in an on-call rotation to investigate and remediate incidents.
- Evaluate and integrate new security technologies and open-source tools into our Security Operations Center.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design secure solutions that empower our employees.
- Develop run books and prepare incident reports for leadership to document findings and improvements.
- Contribute to our broader information security strategy and stay informed on current attack methods and mitigation techniques.
Requirements
- Between 2 and 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- A solid understanding of how modern, distributed, cloud-based applications operate.
- Fluency in scripting languages such as Python or Go, as well as shell scripting in Bash or PowerShell.
- Experience interacting with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure via APIs.
- Working competency with GitOps practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying root causes.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Demonstrated experience or a strong interest in applying security best practices.
