About the Role
We are looking for a Security Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is perfect for a software engineer who is eager to transition into the cybersecurity space. You will leverage your existing development background to help us protect our digital assets, learn industry-standard security tools, and contribute to our proactive defense strategies while receiving mentorship from our collaborative security operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on experience with security methodologies to defend our systems against threats, identify malware, and investigate suspicious activity.
- Analyze our codebase for potential vulnerabilities and collaborate with fellow developers to promote secure coding practices.
- Contribute to our overall security posture by staying current with best practices, participating in ongoing training, and identifying areas for system improvement.
Requirements

- At least 2 years of professional experience working with languages such as Go, Ruby, or Terraform.
- A genuine passion for learning about cybersecurity concepts, tools, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills to identify weaknesses and propose effective solutions.
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to continuously develop your technical expertise.
- Bonus points for familiarity with scripting languages like Python or BASH, exposure to frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or OWASP, and experience with cloud security.
Location
This position is fully remote. We welcome applicants who are permanent residents of the United States, though please note that we are currently unable to hire in a specific list of states including Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and West Virginia.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary for this role is $120,000, which includes both base pay and bonuses. We are committed to equitable compensation and adjust our offers based on your specific skills, experience, and location.
