We are looking for a dedicated Security Engineer to join our team and help protect the infrastructure supporting some of the largest websites in the world. Key outcomes
- Serve as a Security Champion within our agile engineering team, taking full ownership of the services you build and maintain.
- Design, research, and validate cloud hosting architectures by applying your deep knowledge of web, database, and operating systems.
- Resolve complex production issues within our distributed systems.
Requirements
- Between 2 and 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Practical experience with cloud security and compliance in AWS, including familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, DDoS prevention, and standards like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or FedRAMP.
- A strong background in software development using general-purpose programming languages.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and a passion for website delivery architecture.
- Extensive experience with the LAMP stack, specifically Linux, Apache, and MySQL.
- Proficiency with Linux packaging systems, including Debian, RPM, RHEL, and Ubuntu.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, DNS, load balancing, HTTP caching, and VPNs.
- A holistic grasp of hosting, ranging from the network layer up to the application layer.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with the ability to drive results across diverse teams.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Proficiency in software development using Python or Go.
- Experience performing threat modeling, particularly for web applications and APIs.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or LXC.
- Practical experience securing Kubernetes deployments according to hard multi-tenancy guidelines.
